Container aesthetics appear in several examples of pop-up / mobile museum examples that have some relevance to our Summer School projects. This is by GED YOUNG’S company AIM.
Ged Young is the principle of Aim Design an award winning Dundee based hybrid design company that specialises in Architecture, Interior & Graphic design as well as branding and exhibition work. They practice a studio R&D approach to their work. The District 10 master plan and subsequent development of shipping container buildings has been an exciting initiative for Aim, combining experimental modular building processes on a large community scale. Are containers ever meant to be beautiful? Can we live and work in them? They think you can!
Ged was one of the fantastic PKN presenters at Dundee’s second Pecha Kucha Night on 28th February 2012, hosted by Creative Dundee. More info at creativedundee.com
